Funding Options for Entrepreneurs

     I know it’s quite late for this review but at least i think we should know about this. I stumbled upon this website http://hatchlings.wordpress.com, a team of game and website developers consist of programmers and designers. A story of a group of entrepreneur building their own dream.

I attracted at one of the paragraph and it’s useful for entrepreneurs like us who  crucially need help in term of financial support. They write about their own experience in establishing their game development team and which investment program they take part in. After a while, they build their own website to promote their product and gain traffic slowly. Implementation of a website is costly but its worthy for long time period. I agreed with them. As long as we don’t give up in supporting the website and updating it frequently with “good” news and event, we can seed the money slowly. Later website seems to be not a burden to us anymore but an everyday investment.

Here i put some of their story for us to think.

Grants

• Cradle Investment Programme (RM50, 000)
• MDeC Creative Multimedia Cluster IP Creators Series Grant (for Animation, Games, Comics, etc) (RM50, 000)
• MDeC Pre-Seed Fund (RM150, 000)
• Ministry of Innovation, Science, Technology (MOSTI)’s InnoFund (RM50, 000 – RM250, 000)
• Ministry of Innovation, Science, Technology (MOSTI)’s TechnoFund (RM500, 000 – RM3, 000, 000) [requires partnership with research institute]
• MOSTI eContent Fund [for content companies such as games and animation]
• Multimedia Grant Scheme (MDeC) (RM1,200,000++) for MSC Status Company [technology sector] only

The above list are grants, which means you do not need to pay the grant administrator back (there will be conditions and you should always ask first). Of course government grants are public funds. Use them well and responsibly…
